LIGHT MY FIRE

Woody Herman Light My Fire

Not the original by the Doors.

Sure, they wrote it and sold a million copies.

But then Woody Herman turned it into a jazz anthem so powerful that he toured the country on it for the rest of his life. It took a lot of balls to burn this down circa 1969 when most horn blowers were scrambling to make elevator music.

The man is an ever-loving hero.
